SINCE ITS NASCENT YEARS, Unreel's mission has always been to celebrate Filipino cinema and champion the filmmaking talent behind it. The path we've paved towards this goal has been single-minded: to build a definitive Filipino film resource, home to accessible film writing, including reviews, essays, and analyses of Filipino films (and, occasionally, world cinema).
A fiercely independent outlet, we've designed our content experience so that we wouldn't have to submit to the whims of social media algorithms or the greed of corporate overlords—all in service of holding space where candid and incisive discussions happen between Filipino film enthusiasts.
