SINCE ITS NASCENT YEARS, Unreel's mission has always been to celebrate Filipino cinema and champion the filmmaking talent behind it. The path we've paved towards this goal has been single-minded: to build a definitive Filipino film resource, home to reviews, essays, and analyses of Filipino films (and, occasionally, world cinema).
A fiercely independent outlet, we've designed our content experience in that we wouldn't have to submit to the whims of social media algorithms or the greed of corporate overlord — all in service of holding space where candid and incisive discussions happen between Filipino film enthusiasts.
